Sweet Monkey Ornaments

This year is going by so fast and I've been so busy, I wish I could say it was with quilling - I miss it. I was recently asked by a friend if I could create a monkey ornament, she was expecting her first grand baby and their theme was monkey's. I love monkey's, and while I had wanted to make an ornament I needed this request to push me to create one.

Like all my designs, I sketched out some ideas and came up with these cuties….

These are now available in my Etsy shop for purchase if anyone is interested.

Custom Order, Wedding Rings

I cannot believe I've been away from my blog for two months, to say I've been busy is an understatement; I've been super busy with everything - spending time with family, working full time, freelancing, preparing inventory for a craft fair and working on custom orders - I don't know how I find time to sleep....

I have lots of items to chat about, let's start out with my most recent custom order; quilled wedding rings card. I was contacted through Etsy to create this but to include the couples names and their wedding date - I knew I couldn't print directly on the glitter patterned paper so I decided to split that pattern in two, print on a solid white piece of paper and place that in between the glitter paper; embellish that with the quilled design. The sender is in the Philippines and unfortunately not able to make the wedding in Florida, this is being sent directly to the happy couple, I hope they love it.

Custom Birthday Card-Purple Tulips

I love custom orders, they allow me to create something that I normally would not do on my own. A coworker of mine asked if I could create a birthday card for his wife, something girly with purple; a card she wouldn't think of throwing away. He then added she liked tulips; I sat down, created a sketch and this past weekend I was able to work on the card. It turned out so nice, and I could tell he really liked it and he's sure his wife is gonna love it too. Yippee!
